Dog Shooting Investigation Nearing Completion

Adams County District Attorney Don Quick announced today that his office is nearing completion of their investigation of the shooting of a dog by a Commerce City Police officer on November 24, 2012.  On November 27th, the Commerce City Police Department requested the District Attorney’s Office conduct an independent investigation into the shooting.

In the past two weeks, District Attorney Investigators have been conducting a thorough investigation; including interviewing numerous witnesses, review of video and 911 tapes and a detailed review of reports.  If there are additional witnesses that have not yet been interviewed, please contact DA Investigator Joe Maier at 303-659-7720.

Once a necropsy of the dog is completed next week by a veterinary pathologist, the District Attorney’s Office will announce its findings and decisions.
